Classes
Advocating for working and making things with your hands, I have developed a series of creative and engaging workshops for people curious about the intricacies of traditional Japanese design and craft. Through the act of making, my hands-on workshop classes instill appreciation of the skill and timelessness of hand-made objects that defines a personal style, as well as worthy of heirloom status.
These workshops are not only available to adults; kids are encouraged to participate, too. Given the opportunity to work with their hands, children gain appreciation of culture and tradition. They work on the same project as the adults, either separately or together. With guidance and encouragement, they are motivated to go the distance to finish a challenging project. Not only do they develop motor skills and creativity, they gain self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment. They can proudly say "I made it!"
